CEC’s Taiwan Business Division (TBD) is proud to announce winning first place as the best value tender for the C214 contract – South Tainan Station section of the Tainan Railway Underground Project, Taiwan.
The contract, worth NT$4.3 billion (approximately US$132.18 million) is expected to be completed over 1,878 calendar days, entailing the construction of a cut-and-cover tunnel and ramp section for the South Tainan Station. The tunnel has a length of 3,215 meters with an overburden of 0.7-8.7 meters and an excavation depth of 9.5 to 17.5 meters.
Acquisition of land along the east side of the alignment in the northern section of the contract is the responsibility of the Tainan City Government and needs to be completed before CEC can remove the objects within the right of way and continue construction. Liaison and coordination with the Tainan City government, the Railway Reconstruction Bureau, and communities near the construction site, will be one of the biggest challenges in the project.
