Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC), a subsidiary of Continental Holdings Corporation (Stock Code: 3703), has been awarded the “Nangang Depot Social Housing Zone 2 Design & Build Project” by the Department of Urban Development of Taipei City Government. The contract amount including tax is NT$4.828 billion (USD 151 million).
The Nangang Depot Zone 2 Project is a significant element of Taipei City’s “Eastern District Gateway Project.” The project scope includes constructing two social housing towers with 23 and 21 floors above ground and five underground basement levels. In addition to the residential units, the design incorporates public space for residents, commercial units, health and welfare facilities for people with disabilities and long-term care needs.
Following the success of the Nangang Depot Zone 1 Project, this project has been also developed based on the concept of circular economy, and will feature aluminum system formwork, pre-assembled mechanical and electrical services, and other sustainable construction techniques to align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and CHC Group’s ESG commitment. This is the third social housing turnkey project secured by CEC, following the Guangci Social Housing and Nangang Depot Zone 1 Project.
