CEC International Malaysia Sdn Bhd has been awarded an MRT tunnel and underground station contract (“Package C”) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Letter of Acceptance was received on Dec. 21st, 2012 for “PROJEK MASS RAPID TRANSIT LEMBAH KELANG: JAJARAN SUNGAI BULOH – KAJANG – Package C Subcontract Merdeka Stations & Tunnels between Pudu Launch Shaft and Pasar Seni Station” from the Client, MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (T) SDN BHD, who as well as being the Main Contractor to the MRT Corporation Sdn. Bhd.
The Project was awarded to CEC International Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CIMY), a CEC’s subsidiary established in May 2012 for the express purpose of CEC’s entry and subsequent expansion in Malaysia. The contract price is RM$ 480 Million (approximately NT$ 4.8 Billion). The project scope includes construction of 2.6Km of metro tunnel, 2 shafts and the Merdeka Station. Construction is expected to commence on Jan. 15th, 2013 and targets to complete on Nov. 30th, 2016.
