Mr. Simon Buttery, CEO of Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC) was officially appointed on January 7th 2019; CEC’s former President Mr. Ken Hung’s retirement effective on the same day.
Ms. Nita Ing, the Chairman of CEC commented, “the succession plan was initiated more than one year ago and was carefully overseen by the Board. We are very pleased to have Mr. Simon Buttery on board. Mr. Simon Buttery said, “I am thrilled to be joining CEC. During my trips to Taipei last year, I visited a number of very impressive projects under construction. The CEC staff I spoke to demonstrated great pride in what they do and their own personal contribution to the success of the business. This always defines the heart of a successful business.” In the short term, Mr. Simon Buttery will focus on several areas such as health and safety, business development, cash flow, and talent development.
Mr. Simon Buttery has over 35 years of professional experience in the engineering and construction sector. His experience in the international market includes the United Kingdom, the Middle East, North Africa, North America and the Caribbean. During this period Mr. Simon Buttery has held a number of senior leadership roles with major international companies including Wimpey plc, Tarmac plc and Carillion plc. He also has extensive experience in delivering significant engineering and construction projects which have included the construction of Vaughan metro and refurbishment of Union Station in Toronto, the construction of the new Muscat International Airport (Oman) and the luxury residential development projects in Butler’s Wharf, London and Dubai Festival City in UAE.
